After a series of guest speakers this morning we had the
opportunity to attend a forum at UNC- Charlotte in which focused on the
question on why Charlotte was chosen to host the 2012 Democratic National
Convention. Among the speakers were The Honorable Harvey Gantt, Bob Morgan, and
former Mayor Richard Vinroot. Panelists were asked selected questions by
students participating in The Washington Center Academic Seminar. The questions
posed by students focused on the individual DNC partner’s opinions on why they
believe Charlotte was selected as the host city and what they have to offer as
a city that is undergoing a renaissance and being a contestant for the Convention.
